Q & A
How do we get started?
The first step towards working together is a brief phone call (approximately 15 minutes), so that I can learn more about what you are looking for and so that you can learn more about me and the services that I offer. During this call, we will get a sense if we are a good fit for one another. I will answer any of your questions and we can discuss scheduling a first appointment.
For therapy clients, during our first session, we will discuss your background and goals and plan our work together.
For testing clients, during our first session, I will gather your child's detailed academic and social history, we will discuss your concerns and questions, and I will share more information about the testing process.
How long and how often?
Initial therapy sessions are generally scheduled for 60 minutes. Moving forward, we will typically meet for 45-minute sessions on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
Testing intakes with the parent/guardian are scheduled for 60 minutes. Moving forward, we will create a schedule to complete in-person testing with your child. Upon completion of testing sessions, data analysis, and report writing, feedback sessions with parent/guardian are scheduled for 90 minutes.
How does payment work and do you take insurance?
We will discuss fees during our first phone conversation. I am an out-of-network provider, however I can assist you in learning about your reimbursement options. Many insurance companies provide partial reimbursement for out-of-network therapy and testing services. I will provide the necessary documentation for clients seeking reimbursement. When we speak, I would be happy to walk you through this process.
